Damascus, SANA-Dr. Hussein al-Khatib, Deputy Acting Minister of Health, discussed Wednesday with a delegation from the humanitarian medical organization “MedGlobal” ways to boost joint cooperation in the health sector.
During a meeting held at the ministry’s headquarters, al-Khatib expressed readiness to cooperate with the organization within the legal framework, serving the patients’ interests and ensuring the provision of necessary health services.
He highlighted the importance of the work of organizations and collaboration through identifying and meeting the necessary needs, as the ministry operates according to specific steps based on a priority scale.
For his part, Dr. Anas Barbour, the organization’s country representative in Syria, affirmed the organization’s desire to work on several key areas, notably mental health, providing support to former detainees, health facilities restoration, and training and rehabilitation.
