Tehran, SANA- Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Bassam Sabbagh, discussed Thursday with Speaker of Iranian Islamic Shura Council, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, means of boosting bilateral relations between Syria and Iran.
Minister Sabbagh stressed the importance of strengthening the parliamentary relation between the People’s Assembly in the Syrian Arab Republic and the Shura Council in the Islamic Republic of Iran, pointing to the increasing importance enjoyed by parliamentary diplomacy, which has become a substitute for official diplomacy due to the popular weight enjoyed by members of Parliament.
Sabbagh pointed to the importance of the popular mobilizations that marched through streets in many countries to denounce the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and the countries of the region, stressing that they contribute to exerting more pressure on world public opinion against the brutal crimes committed by the Israeli entity.
For his part, Qalibaf stressed that that parliamentary cooperation forms one of the good opportunities to develop the bilateral relations between the two countries, pointing in this regard to the Iranian Shura Council’s approval of the draft law on the free trade agreement between the two countries.
