Abbas urges international community to hold Israeli occupation accountable for its crimes

Cairo, SANA- Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, has urged the international community to hold the Israeli occupation accountable and punish it urgently for the crimes of genocide and ethnic cleansing that it continues to commit against the Palestinian people.

Abbas’ remarks came in a speech Monday quoted by Wafa Agency News Agency.

“The occupation destroyed more than 80 percent of the homes, facilities, hospitals and schools in the Gaza Strip, in addition to the martyrdom and injury of more than 143 thousand Palestinians, and it continues its crimes of usurping land and natural resources in the West Bank, including Jerusalem,” Abbas said.

Abbas stressed that implementing the relevant UN resolutions, and obtaining full membership in the United Nations by the State of Palestine is a fundamental right to achieve justice in the region.

He underlined the need to implement the Security Council’s resolution on an immediate ceasefire and the occupation’s withdrawal from the entire Gaza Strip.
