Higher Relief Committee discusses mechanisms for providing support to comers from Lebanon

Damascus, SANA- Prime Minister Muhammad Ghazi al-Jalali chaired Saturday the Higher Relief Committee meeting at the Ministry of Local Administraion and Environment building.

The meeting discussed mechanisms for continuing the emergency response, providing support and assistance to comers from Lebanon, providing logistics and health services, as well as offering relief and food assistance, in coordination with the higher committee ,the sub-committees in the governorates and various partners from the local community, civil society, non-governmental and international organizations.

He noted that the government has proven its ability to deal with emergency situations even in light of the shortage and limited resources, stressing the importance of integrating efforts to respond to the arrivals and meet their basic needs

The total number of the comers from Lebanon has exceeded 396,164 people, 281,142 of whom are Syrians and 115,022 Lebanese.
