Syrian-Iraqi talks on securing relief supplies for arrivals from Lebanon

Damascus, SANA- Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Ghazi al-Jalali discussed Monday with the Chargé d’affaires of the Iraqi Embassy in Damascus, Yassin Sharif al-Hajimi coordination mechanisms to secure relief supplies for arrivals from Lebanon.

Al-Jalali expressed the Syrian government’s interest, upon the directives of President Bashar al-Assad, to provide services and facilities to the Lebanese brothers arrivals, meet their needs and provide them with logistical and health services.

He noted that Syria will spare no effort in providing the needs for the arrivals despite all the difficult economic conditions it is going through due to terrorism and the unjust blockade imposed on the country.

For his part, the Chargé d’Affairs of the Iraqi Embassy stressed the importance of cooperation between the governments of the two countries to provide assistance to the Lebanese arrivals.

He pointed out the cooperation shown by the various bodies concerned in Syria in this regard.

The two sides also stressed the importance of the fraternal and historical relations binding the two brotherly countries and peoples, and the necessity of investing this to strengthen bilateral relations in the economic, commercial, energy, higher education, scientific research, health and exchange of goods fields, as well as removing obstacles that hinder the development of economic relations between the two countries.
