Peasants in Damascus countryside harvest their wheat crop

Damascus countryside,SANA- farmers of Deir Khabiyah village at Damascus countryside continue harvesting their wheat crop, where they planted an area of about 3,400 dunums of wheat.

Deir Khabiyeh village is about 9 kilometers away from al-Kiswah town, and its area is 16 thousand dunums, planted with a number of crops, most notably wheat, Head of the Deir Khabieh Association Abdo al-Ubaid told SANA reporter.

Process of harvesting the wheat crop started on the twenty-fifth of last May in various provinces of the country.

The harvested areas until June 24 in the safe areas amounted to more than 347 thousand hectares out of the total implemented areas amounting to about 464 thousand hectares, while the marketed quantities of the crop amounted to more than 548 thousand tons until June 23 out of the total production estimated at about 1 million and 220 thousand tons.
