Cairo, SANA- Syria participated in Arab Parliament holding its plenary session of the fourth session of the third legislative term of the Parliament, at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo.
The Arab parliamentarians discussed the reports of the meetings of the permanent and sub-committees, related to following up on developments in the several political, security and social files in the Arab region.
The parliamentarians in the session presented the report of “Palestine Committee”, including the special interest the Arab Parliament towards the Palestinian issue, as it is the central issue, especially with continuation of Israeli war of genocide against Palestinian people in Gaza Strip, calling for it to be stopped immediately.
Speaker of Arab Parliament Adel Al-Asoumi,pointed out that importance of the call issued by the recent Arab summit to hold an international conference to resolve the Palestinian issue on the basis of establishing an independent Palestinian state.
In the same context, a member of the Syrian People’s Assembly, Sheikh Jaber Al-Kharafan, said in a statement to SANA’s correspondent in Cairo that the need to lift the unjust Western economic blockade against the Syrian people was stressed, calling to contribute the process of rebuilding and reconstruction in Syria.
A member of Syrian People’s Assembly, Ghada Ibrahim, said that during the session, we discussed all the recommendations formulated by general committees , which included many topics in the economic, social and legislative fields in addition to important item related to the draft internal regulations of the Arab Observatory for Human Rights and its independence.
