Syria and ICESCO discuss means to enhance cooperation

Riyadh, SANA- Boosting cooperation in the educational sector between Syria and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) was the main point of discussion during a meeting that brought together Minister of Education and Chairman of the National Commission for Education, Science and Culture, Dr. Mohammad Amer al-Mardini, with Director-General of the organization, Dr. Salem bin Muhammad Al-Malik.

The meeting was convened on the sidelines of the Second Consultative Meeting

of the ISESCO National Committees, held in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, coinciding with the 44th session of the Executive Council meeting.

Minister al-Mardini hailed the relations binding Syria and the organization, expressing constant keenness to upgrade these relations in the future.

Dr. al-Mardini reviewed the efforts and procedures undertaken by the Ministry to develop legislation and improve the educational reality in Syria.

Minister al-Mardini stressed Syria’s keenness to enhance cooperation and joint work, encourage initiatives, foster creativity, and diversify areas of partnerships with the organization to serve national sectors in the fields of education, science and culture.

For his part, ISESCO Director reviewed the most prominent aspects of ISESCO’s vision and the major directions of its work strategy, through implementing programs and projects that focus on empowering youth and women and developing their skills.

He emphasized the organization’s keenness to enhance relations with Syria.
