Damascus, SANA- Syria condemned the US- British air strikes on Yemeni cities and called this aggression against the Yemeni people a threat to security and stability in the Red Sea region and the navigation therein, Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said in a statement on Friday.
“Syria considers this aggression a desperate attempt to divert the attention of world public opinion from the war crimes committed by “Israel” against the Palestinian people,” the statement read.
These attacks confirm once again that the United States is a complicit in Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, the statement indicated.
The statement criticized statements of the representatives of the US administration who appointed themselves lawyers for the Israeli occupation authorities and showed contempt for International Law, the brutal massacres, war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by “Israel.”
The blatant efforts of the representatives of the US administration to ensure that Israel escapes punishment is condemnable, the statement noted.
“Syria expressed its support for the action taken by the Republic of South Africa against “Israel” before the International Court of Justice for its flagrant violations of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide,” the statement added.
The statement underlined that this important measure highlights the large number of Palestinian civilian victims, especially children, and ensure accountability of Israel for its crimes against the Palestinian people for 75 years.
