Syria demands immediate ceasefire in Gaza at WHO emergency session

Damascus, SANA- Syria participated in the emergency session of the Executive Board of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva to discuss the health situation in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Syrian Health Minister Hassan al-Ghabbash called for putting an end to the Israeli aggression against health facilities and other infrastructure.

“The harsh conditions that the Palestinian people suffer from, especially in Gaza require the international and Arab community to respond to prevent more deaths, and save the Palestinian people from the catastrophic situation at the health and humanitarian levels, al-Ghabbash said in a statement virtually via Zoom application.

Syria called for the necessity of exerting all possible international efforts to stop the Israeli attacks and put an end to the humanitarian catastrophe taking place in Gaza, demanding an immediate and permanent ceasefire, and allowing the continued flow of humanitarian aid on a large scale to reach all the needy and injured Palestinian people.
