Syrian and Chinese talks to strengthen economic and investment ties

Damascus, SANA- Damascus Governor Muhammad Tariq Krishatia discussed Sunday with China Ambassador in Damascus Shi Hongwei ways to enhance cooperation relations in the fields of economic, investment, transportation, renewable energies, and infrastructure.

Krishati stressed the depth and strength of relations between Syria and China in all fields, and expressed appreciation for China’s standing by Syria in international forums and providing humanitarian and relief aid to affected people of the earthquake catastrophe.

In turn, the Chinese Ambassador highlighted the cultural and heritage importance of Syria, as Damascus represents the oldest inhabited capital in history, stressing the necessity of lifting the sanctions imposed on the country.

Hongwei confirmed that his country is ready to cooperate with Syria in various cultural, economic and commercial fields, in addition to investment and reconstruction projects.

He noted that China will provide a grant to Damascus Governorate, including solar lighting devices and hold training courses for the technical cadres and workers.
