Guterres calls for ceasefire in Gaza strip to secure delivering aid

Rafah Crossing, SANA-United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres called for an unconditional ceasefire in Gaza Strip to ensure aid access to the residents of the Strip.

Gaza is running out of water, food, fuel, and the necessities of life, Guterres said during a press conference at Rafah Crossing on Friday.

Guterres called for significant deliveries of aid truck to be speeded up from Rafah crossing on the Egyptian side to the Palestinian side.

Guterres noted that more than two million people in Gaza strip are suffering under stifling siege with no food, water or fuel.

He said that despite agreement to allow the entry of humanitarian aid, there are still conditions that hinder its reaching into the strip.
