Damascus, SANA- Participants in the national dialogue forum that was organized by the Social Committee of the National Dialogue Follow-up Committee called for holding an inter-Syrian dialogue and establishing committees tasked with the files of the kidnapped and the missing.
The participants in the forum titled “National Dialogue and its Role in National Reconciliations” which was held Monday at Dama Rose hotel suggested that committees be formed comprising heads of clans and tribe dignitaries that seek to unravel the fate of people who had been kidnapped or went missing during the crisis that has gripped Syria.
They also demanded ensuring the safety of all persons who seek a settlement to their legal status to enable them to have normal lives again.
Minister of State for National Reconciliation Affairs Dr. Ali Haidar said that the forum constituted a platform for those who care for the homeland’s interests.
Haidar said that the job done so far is but one phase of local reconciliations. “But broader national reconciliations still need a lot of time and effort,” he said.
For her part , Secretary General of the National Youth Party for Justice and Development Barwin Ibrahim said that “the main objective of such preliminary dialogue sessions is the comprehensive Syrian dialogue”, noting that national opposition forces have plans and vision to solve the crisis in Syria and that the social committee has solutions to solve files related to the matter.
In statements to journalists following the meeting, Haidar said that national dialogue among Syrians, irrespective of their designation as loyalists or opposition, will pave the way for solving the crisis.
The proposed ideas that have been thrashed out during the forum are thought to give impetus to the work of state institutions, he said, affirming that the state is still present in every area on the Syrian land.
Haidar said that gunmen continue to hand themselves and weapons over, which he saw as a propitious sign.
Commenting on localized reconciliations that have recently been accomplished, Haidar said reconciliations in Babila and Bait Sahm in Damascus countryside have made big strides, promising good news about these areas in the coming days.
