Damascus, SANA-Ministry of Culture has launched an intellectual seminar entitled (Arabism and the Questions of Awakening) at al-Assad Library in Damascus, with the participation of Arab and Syrian researchers.
Minister of Culture Issam Khalil said during a speech at the opening of the seminar that political experience in Syria has proved that Arabism is not a point of view but a deep belonging and identity based on mature awareness of the human, historical cultural and role of the Arab nation.
Khalil considered that the calamity of the Arab Nation resulted from political regimes and governments that do not reflect the conscience of people or care about their interests but depend on foreign protection for survival.
“Intellectuals were and will remain the guards of the Arab history”, the minister added, noting that “we would seek rebuilding the true face of the Arab Nation by the minds and hands of intellectuals and people, by the culture of resistance and clinging to life and by deep faith in the great role of the culture of this nation that had gave Alphabet to humanity.”
“Our true confrontation is a cultural and intellectual one with the takfiri project”, Khalil added, saying that “this seminar is another trench that fortifies Arab thought and supply it with necessary knowledge.”
