Damascus, SANA – Modatex Apparel and Leather Exhibition is to be held soon in Damascus-based Dama Rose Hotel by Syrian Export Federation in cooperation with Aleppo Leather Committee and Federation of Chambers of Industry.
Secretary of Syrian Export Federation Mazen Hammour said that 90 companies- 25 for leather industry and 65 for apparel from different sectors – participate in the Exhibition to be held on 22th and 23th of the current month on an area of 800 square meters.
“The Exhibition aims at stimulating the market and bringing back glow to the Syrian industrial exhibitions, in addition to passing a message to all the Syrians that the country produces what costumers need according to international standards,” hammour said, adding “it is needn’t to import from other countries since we have our own industry in order to preserve the stability of the currency, the Syrian product and the local labor.”
With the beginning of this year, the exhibition industry witnessed signs of revival with Syria participating in two regional exhibitions in Baghdad and Beirut. Syria and Iraq signed USD 100 million contracts during the Syria Mod Baghdad Exhibition as the Syrian-made garments exhibition (Syria Mod for Spring-Summer 2015) held in Beirut International Exhibition & Leisure Center (BIEL) achieved a high turnout.
