Beijing, SANA- Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang noted that the talks held between Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy via a phone call on Wednesday is an important step on the path to resolving the crisis in Ukraine.
“The phone call between the two presidents is an important step that China has taken to help in solving the Ukraine crisis and once again demonstrate Beijing’s negotiating position,” the Chinese Foreign Ministry website quoted Qin as saying on Thursday during a meeting of foreign ministers of Central Asian countries and China.
Gang pointed out that the development of the Ukrainian crisis into its current situation bears a deep-rooted historical background and complex causes.
Gang stressed that the crisis must ultimately be resolved through negotiations and political means, regardless of its complexity.
During a telephone call with Ukraine’s President on Wednesday, the Chinese President stressed that dialogue and negotiations are the only viable way out of the Ukrainian crisis.
