Syrian Social Nationalist Party in Lebanon calls for breaking embargo on Syria

Beirut, SANA- With the presence of Chargé d’Affaires of Syrian Embassy in Lebanon, Ali Daghman, Syrian Social Nationalist Party in Lebanon organized Friday a solidarity meeting with the Syrian people in Beirut, under the slogan “breaking the Embargo”, in rejection of the so-called “Caesar Law” and the unjust US-Western blockade imposed on Syria, and in support of relief efforts for the quake-affected people.

Member of Supreme Council of the Syrian Social Nationalist Party in Lebanon, Secretary General of General Conference of Arab Parties, Qassem Saleh, offered his condolences to the Syrian government and people over the victims of the recent earthquake, wishing recovery for the wounded and injured.

Saleh suggested forming a committee to organize activities and events for this purpose and preparing a legal note to be submitted to international bodies and organizations that shows the terrible crimes of this blockade.

During his speech, Chargé d’Affaires of Syrian Embassy in Lebanon said that ‘in spite of years of embargo and unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria, yet, since the first moments followed the quake, the government with all its institutions mobilized all capabilities to confront repercussions of the earthquake, as the Syrians showed, with their determination, a wonderful solidarity in this crisis.

He stressed that breaking the embargo imposed on Syria, which is a national and humanitarian mission, has become now an urgent need regarding the humanitarian catastrophe facing the Syrians.

Daghman called on all friendly parties, bodies and activities to intensify efforts, increasing solidarity campaigns with Syria, and do everything possible to make the slogan of breaking embargo on Syria a global slogan adopted by all forces opposing the US policy in the region and the world.

A number of figures of different parties and councils expressed their condolence over the quake victims hit Syria recently, and called for cancelling the so-called “Caesar Law” and the unjust sanctions imposed on Syria.
