Damascus, SANA- A Libyan plane carrying relief for those affected by the quake that hit Syria last Monday arrived at Damascus International Airport on Saturday.
The plane’s cargo included about 25 tons of foodstuffs, tents and rescue equipment, in addition to a rescue team that consists of 15 people.
“This plane came as support from the Libyan people and the national unity government to help the brothers in Syria overcome the ordeal, “Libyan consul in Damascus, Khalafallah Subai’i, said in a statement to SANA reporter.
Subai’i called on all the Arab nations to help the Syrian people overcome the impacts of this quake that hit the country.
In turn, Assistant Minister of Local Administration Mu’ataz Douaji extended thanks to the Libyan people and government.
Douaji noted that this is the first plane that landed at Damascus International Airport after two planes arrived at Aleppo and Lattakia airports.
