President al-Assad meets UAE’s Sheikh Abdallah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, discussions deal with distinguished bilateral relations

Damascus, SANA-President Bashar al-Assad discussed on Wednesday with His Highness Sheikh Abdallah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates the distinguished brotherly relations between Syria and the UAE and cooperation in a number of fields, and means of enhancing economic and Trade relations in the interests of the two countries and peoples.

President al-Assad said that relations between Syria and the UAE are historic, so it is normal that they return to their deepness-as known for long decades-in the interests of the two countries, peoples and issues of the region, referring to the importance of the UAE state and its positive role in the Arab region.

The guest Minister conveyed the greetings of his Highness Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice-President of the UAE to President Bashar al-Assad, stressing that his country is keen on boosting cooperation between the two states, broadening its aspects and continuing coordination and cooperation with Syria in different issues.

His Highness Sheikh Abdallah bin Zayed Al Nahyan affirmed his country’s support for Syria’s stability and sovereignty all over its lands, expressing the UAE’s confidence that the Syrian people, thanks to their will, would restore once again development and prosperity to the country.

Sheikh Abdallah bin Zayed arrived in Damascus on Wednesday afternoon, accompanied by Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security, Saeed Mubarak Al-Hajri, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE for Economic and Trade Affairs, and a number of senior officials.
