Baghdad, SANA- Syria and Iraq agreed to sign memorandum of understanding in the field of health and medicine and the exchange of medical expertise.
That came during talks held between the Iraqi Minister of Health, Hani al-Aqabi, with the Syrian Ambassador to Baghdad, Sattam Jadaan al-Dandah.
Ambassador al-Dandah told SANA’s reporter in Baghdad that “discussions with the Iraqi minister led to an agreement to sign a memorandum of understanding between the two ministries of health in the field of exchanging experiences in the fields of pharmaceutical manufacturing, encouraging pharmaceutical investment and establishing joint pharmaceutical projects”.
“the memorandum will also include exchanging experiences in the field of food industry, environmental health and food safety, in addition to exchanging experiences in the field of developing and modernizing information technology systems in health systems,” ambassador al-Dandah added.
According to a statement by the Iraqi Ministry of Health, minister al-Aqabi discussed with the Syrian ambassador in Baghdad “means of enhancing bilateral cooperation in the health field, pharmaceutical industries and health supplies, as well as exchanging experiences in the medical and health fields”.
The Iraqi minister praised the joint cooperation between the Iraqi and Syrian ministries of health, which advances medical services in both countries.
