Countries of NAM call on “Israel” to withdraw from the entire occupied Syrian Golan

New York, SANA-The Non-Aligned Movement countries called on Israeli occupation entity to fully withdraw from the occupied Syrian Golan to the line of June 4, 1967, in implementation of the relevant Security Council resolutions no. 497 of 1981.

With the participation of Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad, on sidelines of the 77th session of the U N General Assembly (UNGA 77) ,the Non-Aligned movement, during its ministerial meeting, , adopted a political declaration that reflected the movement’s positions on various issues on the international scene.

The Movement affirmed its principled position and commitment to combating terrorism in all its forms, the need to establish a just world order away from the negative impact of the global financial and economic crises, the continuing shortage of resources, inequality in the rates of trade exchange, non-cooperation of developed countries, as well as the impact of coercive measures imposed by some of them.

Minister Mikdad affirmed Syria’s right to restore the entire occupied Golan to the line of June 4, 1967, in accordance with relevant U N resolutions.

He reiterated Syria’s principled and firm stance in support of the Palestine cause and the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

Mikdad stressed Syria’s adherence to the principles of the Non-Aligned Movement to confront the great challenges that afflict the world, the most important of which is the spread of terrorism regionally and internationally, pointing to the need for effective cooperation to confront this dangerous threat.

He condemned the support of Western countries for terrorism and their illegal coercive measures on Syria and some countries of the Non-Aligned Movement, stressing the need to end any illegitimate foreign military presence on Syrian territory.
