Makhlouf calls for executing projects to boost local Administration services

Damascus, SANA- Minister of Local Administration and Environment, Hussein Makhlouf, underlined the necessity of implementing joint projects that enhance services of local administration between the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat) and Syria.

Makhlouf, meeting Head of the UN-Habitat in Syria, Mr. Ryan Knox who has ended his tasks in the country, referred to the importance of projects been executed between the two sides during the period of his work as a head of the program.

“It is very important to expand support and take into consideration the balance among provinces in a way that helps respond to the increasing needs of residents,” Makhlouf said.

In turn, Knox said that cooperation between the Program and Syria has found many projects in several domains, especially in the field of local planning and early recovery projects in all Syrian provinces.
