Philippine Embassy in Damascus celebrates 76th anniversary for establishing diplomatic relations with Syria

Damascus, SANA- The Philippine Embassy in Damascus organized today a friendly bowling competition on the occasion of the 76th anniversary for establishing diplomatic relations with Syria at Damasquino Mall in Damascus.

Chargé de Affairs of the Philippine embassy in Damascus, Vida Soraya Verzosa, expressed her condolences to the martyrs’ families in the Israeli aggression on Damascus International Airport.

She expressed the Philippines’ solidarity with the Syrian people and its appreciation for their steadfastness and facing challenges and difficulties.

Verzosa thanked Syria for supporting and helping Filipino families to return to the Philippines after working in Syria.

For his part, Head of the Consular Department at Foreign and Expatriates Ministry, Tammam Suleiman, expressed his appreciation and thanks to the Philippine Embassy for its solidarity with the Syrian people against the aggression and violations carried out by the Israeli enemy.

He described the Philippine – Syrian relations as deep- rooted and strong , as Syria was among the first countries to recognize the independence of the Philippines in 1946, noting that on the other hand, the Philippine embassy continued to work in Damascus during the terrorist war against Syria.
