1947 – Ras al-Khaimah joins the United Arab Emirates.

1982 – Foundation of Palestinian Communist Party in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and diaspora, to become later The Palestinian People’s Party.

1918- Italian journalist and peace-activist and Nobel-Laureate Ernesto Teodoro Moneta.

1992 – Lebanese actor, singer and radio host Hikmet Wehbe.

2005 – American Playwright Arthur Miller.
