Moscow, SANA- Russian presidential spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said that the Russian army exists in Syria upon legitimate request by the Syrian government, unlike the illegitimate presence of the US occupation forces there.
“The Russian military is present in Syria at an invitation of the Syrian leadership, in full compliance with international law, whereas the Americans don’t have such an invitation,” RIA Novosti news agency quoted Peskov as saying in a press statement today.
As for tension between the Russian and US troops in Syria, Peskov said “it is appropriate to find out about this from the military experts of the Russian Defense Ministry.”
