More than 465 thousand hectares of wheat harvested in several Syrian provinces  

Damascus, SANA- The total wheat harvested area in the provinces has reached up to 465, 613 hectares so far, while the total marketed quantities have amounted to 304,954 tons.

“Wheat harvest operations are still underway in the provinces,” Director of Plant Production Department at the Ministry of Agriculture, Engineer Ahmed Haidar said in a statement to SANA.

He added that the harvested areas in the provinces have been as follows: Aleppo about 124,566 hectares, Hama 103,240 hectares, Raqqa 100 thousand hectares, Hasaka 68,100 hectares, Daraa 44,300 Hectares, Homs 13,086 hectares, Deir Ezzor 12 thousand hectares, Idleb 7250 hectares, Sweida 3255 hectares, Damascus countryside 1531 hectares and Quneitra 49 hectares.

Haidar said that the total marketed quantities were 304,954 tons.

Haidar added that 170,897 hectares of barley, 35,474 hectares of lentils, and 14,522 hectares of chickpeas were also harvested.
