Damascus, SANA- Mrs. Asma al-Assad visited children residing in the Lahn al-Hayat complex in the countryside of Damascus on Eid al-Fitr occasion, giving them gifts and shaing joy with them.
Mrs. Asma al-Assad met supervisors of the complex and mothers who give the utmost care they can to care and protect the children and adolescents in this complex.
The supervisors said that the issue of people of unknown parentage requires boosting the society’s responsibility towards them, and that social media has recently contributed to spreading humanitarian incidents to infants who were left in the streets and in front of the mosques and hospitals without knowing their lineage identity, and that Lahn al-Hayat complex received them and they became part of their family.
Dozens of infants, children and adults of unknown parentage live in this complex, where they receive care, protection and upbringing that help them face life’s challenges and be active in their community.
