Education Ministry, UNICEF discuss activating cooperation and supporting educational situation

Damascus, SANA- Minister of Education, Darem Tabbaa, and the Regional Director of UNICEF office in the Middle East and North Africa, Adele Khodr, discussed mechanisms of developing educational relations between the two sides in a way that supports the educational situation.

Minister Tabbaa talked about the challenges that faced the educational sector during the years of the terrorist war on Syria, stressing the ministry’s keenness to provide education to all students and to cooperate with relevant organizations in the domain of school restoration and rehabilitation, as well as following up the development of Class B Curriculum and promoting extra-curricular activities to build a balanced personality of the child and develop their abilities and knowledge.

Tabbaa indicated that the ministry is working in partnership with the organization to develop a vision for a future plan aimed at reducing violence, in addition to spreading the legal culture according to the matrix it prepared in partnership with the psychological and legal participants.

Khader hailed the role of the ministry and its interest in returning children who have dropped out of school to their classrooms, pointing to the importance of setting joint programs with the ministry in this field, identifying the challenges facing the educational sector, and activating relations that serve children in Syria.
