A tourist group of different nationalities visit Bosra al-Sham in Daraa countryside

Daraa, SANA- A tourist group of different European nationalities visited Bosra al-Sham City yesterday to enjoy the beauty of the city and its deep-rooted history.

Head of the Tourist Information Center in Bosra, Mohammad Mikdad, said in a statement to SANA reporter today that the Tourism Directorate is working to encourage domestic and foreign tourism, and within a month and a half, it received three tourist groups of different nationalities.

Those groups visited the historic city, especially the theater, the castle, Sarir bint Al-Malek (Bed of the King’s Daughter), the bathhouses, the Omari Mosque and the Bab al-Hawa street and others, Mikdad added.

He noted that the Directorate of Tourism, in cooperation with the Bosra City Council, provides visitors with all facilities and sufficient information about the city and its ancient history.

He stressed that the frequent visits are a good indicator of the state of recovery and they come in line with the aspirations of the Ministry of Tourism in the field of developing the tourism sector and prospects for sustainable tourism development.

Director of Bosra al-Sham Antiquities Department Alaa al-Saleh said that the department continually works to rehabilitate the site for receiving the internal and foreign visits.

Bosra al-Sham embraces 45 archeological sites inside the old city and outside it.
