Beijing, SANA- China has affirmed that Russia is an important G20 member, noting that no country in this group has the right to exclude another one from its membership
“The G20 is the main forum for international economic cooperation… Russia is an important member, and no member has the right to exclude another country,” Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin said at a press briefing reported by AFP.
Jake Sullivan, security advisor in the administration of US President Joe Biden, had previously talked about the possibility of excluding Russia from the G20, whose next summit is scheduled to be held in Indonesia at the end of this year, as part of the escalatory policies against Moscow under the pretext of the crisis in Ukraine.
For her part, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stressed that there is no point in commenting on such inappropriate hypothetical statements.
