Cairo, SANA – Syrian pavilion at Cairo International Book Fair has witnessed a large turnout which displayed books of Syrian publishing houses.
Head of the Syrian Publishers’ Association Haitham Hafez told SANA reporter in Cairo that the Egyptian and Arab readers who visited the exhibition expressed their great admiration of the Syrian book, where the Syrian publishing houses insisted on proving their presence strongly in the exhibition this year.
During the meetings and interviews held with supervisors of the exhibition, Syrian publishing houses affirmed that the demand to Syrian titles in different types of publications, including political, social, religious and economic books, as well as books for children, is very high.
Hafez pointed out that the Syrian book is distinguished among the Arab and international publications, and the success achieved by the Syrian publisher is considered a success for steadfastness and sacrifices offered by all the people of the country in the face of the conspiracies that were hatched against Syria.
The Cairo International Book Fair holds its 53rd session from the 26th of last January to the 7th of February under the slogan “Egypt’s Identity.. Culture and the Question of the Future” with the participation of 1,063 publishing houses and agencies from 50 Arab and foreign countries.
