Aleppo, SANA- The Syrian Association for Child Cancer Care and Treatment has provided treatment for more than 735000 cancer patients in a number of Syrian Provinces since it was established before ten years up till now.
The Association is providing treatment for about 1200 cancer patient in Aleppo and 5600 other cancer patients in the rest of the provinces.
The Association, marking ten years on its establishment, held on Saturday an awareness activity in front of Aleppo Citadel.
Chairwomen of the Association Mezna Olabi told SANA in a statement that 240 cancer child have recovered due to the care, follow-up and the medical and therapeutic services that are provided to the patients.
Work continues to eliminate this disease through ensuring the needed doses and medicines through the governmental support provided to those patients in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor and its departments in the Syrian provinces, Olabi said.
She pointed out the medical centers affiliated to the Association which provided treatment to the patients in Damascus, Aleppo, Hama, Deir Ezzor and Hasaka provinces with the aim of alleviating the effects of the disease and the moral and psychological burden on them.
For his part, Member of the board of directors of the association, Ahmad Dabbas pointed out that treatment and medical services have been provided to the cancer patients all over the years of the terrorist war and the economic blockade imposed on Syria.
Dabbas hailed the efforts exerted by the charity bodies and volunteers to reach the children at their homes and provide treatment to them, asserting that determination to continue fighting and combatting the disease in all Syria.
In turn, Director of the Administrative Affairs in the association, Mustafa Abu Suf talked about the spread of the disease in the eastern regions of Syria due to the pollution, the inhuman situation the locals are living and their suffering due to the terrorist organizations.
He added that cancer medicines and doses will continue to be provided to the patients as a supportive activity to the governmental efforts exerted to treat this disease.
Last month treatment services have been provided to more than three thousand cancer child, according to a volunteer in the association.
Syrian Association for Child Cancer Care and Treatment was established in 2012 and it provides medical and treatment services to the children infected with this disease.
