Damascus, SANA-Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Mohamed Hassan Qatna discussed on Wednesday with his Lebanese counterpart Abbas Hajj Hassan mechanisms for marketing agricultural products in Syria and Lebanon, exchanging experiences and enhancing cooperation according to agreements signed between the two countries.
The two Ministers held talks on the importance integration among Arab countries in order to achieve Arab food security.
In a press statement following the meeting, Minister Qatana affirmed the need of working to facilitate the exchange of agricultural products and requirements of production between the two countries and to find solutions to problems that may face marketing.
The Lebanese Minister, for his part, said that the two sides discussed the import and export process, particularly regarding citrus fruits, bananas and vegetables in the interests of farmers in Syria and Lebanon.
In a similar context, Minister of Transport, Zouheir Khzeim discussed with the Lebanese Minister means of activating cooperation and confronting repercussions of unilateral coercive economic measures imposed on Syria which affect the process of transporting goods and land freight movement and transit.
