Damascus, SANA- Activities of the second Iranian Products’ Exhibition kicked off on Monday at the fairgrounds in Damascus, with the participation of tens of commercial and industrial companies specializing in medical equipment, agricultural tools, oil and gas equipment, petrochemicals, food, textiles, and cars.
Economy and Foreign Trade Minister, Muhammad Samer al-Khalil, said during the opening of the exhibition that the presence of a large number of Iranian companies indicates that cooperation between the two sides does not target only trade exchange, but it moved to export cooperation for the two countries’ markets, noting that most companies seek cooperation in the field of investment, whether directly or through cooperation with the public or private sectors.
“Bilateral meetings between the Syrian and Iranian sides gave an opportunity to get acquainted with the situation of the Syrian market and the exchange of contracts and agreements, and the fruits of these meetings will appear in the development of trade exchange and industrial integration in many sectors,” Minister Khalil added.
For his part, the Iranian Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, Seyed Reza Fatemi Amin, said that Syria was and still is an industrial country and possesses good infrastructure in the textile and food industries sector, indicating that Iran is looking for joint job opportunities between the two countries and there are great potentials for developing joint relations in this field.
