Damascus, SANA – A book that documents the severe destruction of the Syrian archeological sites all over Syria perpetrated by the thieves, terrorists and extremists is to be issued soon under the title of “The Syrian Heritage Subjected to Danger…International Responsibility for Maintaining and preserving it.”
General Director of Antiquities and Museums Mamoun Abdelkarim said that the book is written by the American Prof. Franklin Lamm, the archaeologist residing in Lebanon, adding that Lamm visited several unsafe areas in Homs and Aleppo where he met many archaeologists as to reach facts of what happened to the Syrian archeological heritage.
Abdelkarim clarified that the book tackles legal issues related to protecting antiquities and the international laws regulating preserving them, stressing that what makes the book important is that Prof. Lamm stayed in Syria for a long time and investigated facts closely.
