Mikdad discusses with envoy of Guyana president relations and developments

Damascus, SANA- Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Fassyal Mikdad discussed with Mr. George Hallaq, Envoy of Guyana president, Minister of South Europe, the Middle East and Africa, bilateral relations and means of enhancing them.

During the meeting, both sides affirmed the importance of increasing communication and cooperation at international forums.

Mikdad said that Syria is proud of its relations with Guyana and with various Latin American and Caribbean countries that believe in the principles and objectives of the United Nations charter.

He hailed Mr. Hallaq’s visit to hold discussions on different international developments of mutual interest and to build on them in order to develop bilateral relations in various cultural, economic, and political domains.

Hallaq, for his part, expressed his happiness over his visit to Syria.

He added that the visit is not the first and it won’t be the last, and he conveys the sincere wishes of the leadership and people of Guyana to the Syrian people and their leadership in defeating terrorism and rebuilding Syria.

Guyana supports Syria in the face of the unjust terrorist war imposed on it, Envoy Hallaq stressed.

The two sides agreed to continue coordination and consultation on different issues of bilateral cooperation between both countries.
