Damascus, (SANA) Under the patronage of President Bashar al-Assad, Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Armed Forces, a graduation ceremony was held on Sunday for a new batch of women cadets from the Military Academy.
The Major General, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Army and Armed Forces represented President al-Assad at the ceremony held on occasion of the 48th anniversary of October Liberation War.
The Major General reviewed the Guards of Honor from a convertible vehicle along with the Director of the Academy, and then they reviewed the formations of the graduate batches and the batches participating in the military parade.
The ceremony began with observing a moment of silence in honor for the souls of the martyrs, then the Syrian national anthem was played. This was followed by a military parade presented by the graduates.
The Major General delivered a speech at the ceremony through which he conveyed President al-Assad’s congratulations for the graduates, wishing them success in their future duties.
“Our country is confidently moving towards victory and the restoration of stability,” he said, pointing out that the army writes the future of the country with the sacrifices of its personnel.
The Director of the Military Academy gave a speech in which she called on the graduate cadets to continue their training and discipline and constantly follow up on all new in the field of military sciences and knowledge.
After that, the ceremony of handing over and receiving the flag took place, and the graduates took the military oath, and the ceremony was concluded with the national anthem of the Syrian Arab Republic.
