Damascus, SANA- With the participation of Arab lawyers, the first session of the permanent office of the Arab Lawyers’ Union kicked off in Damascus on Friday under the slogan “Solidarity with Syria in the face of aggression and the unjust siege.. No to initiatives.. Yes to the return of the entire Palestinian lands and Jerusalem is the eternal capital.”
Representatives from the Arab Lawyers’ Union of Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan, Palestine, Sudan, Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt participate in the conference, which is be held at Sheraton Damascus Hotel.
Al-Firas Faris, Chief of the Lawyers said in a statement to SANA that the number of participants in the meeting is about 140 lawyers, pointing out that since the beginning of the terrorist war on Syria, the Arab Lawyers’ Union has had firm positions and proved its patriotism and Arabism, pointing out that all decisions issued by its international meetings and conferences stress Syria’s sovereignty and unity, end the aggression against it and stop external interference in its affairs.
Minister of Justice Ahmad al- sayyed pointed out that “convening the meeting in Damascus affirms that solidarity and brotherhood remove the barriers of siege and demolish the walls of illusion and the borders”
He stressed that the inevitability of the return of the entire land of Palestine and that Jerusalem is the eternal capital of Palestine.
Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Lawyers Makkawi bin Issa pointed out that Syria was at the forefront of the Arab countries which presented a wonderful model for Arab unity, issues of Arabism and national independence, and remained on the Pan-Arab bledge.
Bin Issa said that convening the first session of the permanent office for the year 2021 in Damascus affirms that the Palestinian case is the central issue of the Arabs.
He stressed adherence to the goals of the Arab Lawyers’ Union, foremost of which is the struggle to liberate the occupied Arab lands and against Zionist racism and American imperialism and resistance to normalization in all its forms.
