Chinese President congratulates President al-Assad on winning presidential election

Damascus, SANA-President Bashar al-Assad received a cable of congratulation from Chinese President Xi Jinping on the occasion of his election as President of the Syrian Arab Republic.

In his cable, Chinese President hailed the deep-rooted relations of friendship between China and Syria, asserting that Syria was one of the pioneer Arab Countries that has established diplomatic relations with China.

The Chinese President added that he attaches importance to developing the Chinese-Syrian relations, expressing readiness to work with President al-Assad to seize the 65^th anniversary of establishing bilateral diplomatic relations this year as a chance to realize big achievements in the relations between the two countries.

He added that his country strongly supports Syria in protecting its national sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, asserting that his country will provide assistance to Syria in combating Covid-19 epidemic, activate its economy and improve prosperity of Syrian people to raise the level of Chinese-Syrian cooperation to new levels.
