President of Abkhazia visits Maaloula and Sednaya towns in Damascus countryside

Damascus, SANA-President of Abkhazia, Aslan Bzhania, and the accompanying delegation visited on Monday Maaloula and Sednaya towns in Damascus countryside.

At Saint Thecla Monastery in Maaloula, President Bzhania listened to an explanation about acts of sabotage that affected the town and the church because of terrorism, expressing appreciation for the resilience of the town families and their courage in defending this religious and historic place.

During the visit, a group of children sang songs in the Aramaic language.

President Bzhania also visited the Convent of Our Lady of Sednaya and listened to an explanation by Abbess Nabhan about the spiritual importance of this convent and the sabotage that targeted it at the hand of terrorist organizations until clearing up the region at the hands of Syrian Arab Army.

President of Abkhazia arrived in Damascus on Sunday evening on an official visit that will last for several days.
