Damascus, SANA -Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Bashar al-Jaafari, discussed on Monday with Ambassador Anwar Abdul-Hadi, Director of the Political Department of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in Damascus, relationship between the two countries and latest developments on Arab and Palestinian arenas.
Al-Jaafari affirmed Syria’s firm and principled stance towards the Palestinian cause and the support of Syria’s leadership and people for this cause until Palestinian people fully regain their legitimate rights.
He expressed Syria’s welcome to any decision that achieves the Palestinian consensus, ends the state of division, and unites the Palestinian ranks in a way that supports the legitimate demands of the Palestinian people, especially at this sensitive and delicate stage as the Palestinian issue faces an unprecedented attack and international attempts to liquidate it and undermine the rights of the Palestinian people.
For his part, Ambassador Abdul-Hadi hailed Syria’s firm stance in support of the Palestinian cause, stressing that Syria has not changed its stance despite the tremendous pressures ,the global war against the country, and unilateral coercive economic measures which come within the framework of targeting the Arab nation in general and the Palestinian cause in particular.
