Capitals, SANA- The novel coronavirus COVID 19 has claimed the lives of 2 million and 658 thousand persons while the number of infected persons with the virus has surpassed 120 million, since its outbreak in December 2019, according to the latest statistics by the Worldometers website.
The website added that the total number of coronavirus infections has amounted to 120,001,946 and the death toll climbed up to 2,658,215 while the recoveries reached up to 96,505,646.
The US still tops the worst-affected countries by the virus in terms of the number of infections and deaths after registering 546,430 new fatalities out of 30,035,322 infections, and Brazil comes second after registering 277,091 deaths out of 11,438,935 infections. While India comes third after recording 158,642 fatalities out of 11,358,644 infections.
