Damascus, SANA-Prime Minister, Hussein Arnous, on Sunday discussed with members of Arab Writers Union’s Executive Office the significant role of intellectuals in confronting cultural and media war to which Syria is exposed.
During the meeting, Arnous said that the terrorist war has targeted the present and future of the Syrian people that aimed to spread destructive ideas away from the reality and the economic siege that targets the Syrians’ livelihood.
He underlined the importance of the responsible and right word in forming the public opinion in addition to the role of the intellectuals in creating a balanced and objective speech as well as intensifying efforts and using the available capacities.
The talks also stressed the necessity of activating the role of authors and publication houses to restore the book important place in society.
