Tehran, SANA-Syria’s Ambassador to Iran Dr. Shafiq Dayoub has underlined the importance of scientific cooperation between the Syrian and Iranian universities in the advanced scientific, technological and qualitative specializations and in the domains of scientific research in a way that would consolidate the scientific and developmental structure in the two friendly countries through linking the scientific and technological research with the wheel of national economy.
Dayoub’s remarks came during a meeting Wednesday with Dr. Alaeddin Boroujerdi, Vice-Chancellor of International Affairs and Foreign Students at the Islamic Azad University (IAU).
The Ambassador also highlighted the necessity to benefit from the experiences and exchanging them between the Syrian and Iranian universities.
He reaffirmed that the cooperation with Iranian Islamic Republic in the scientific domains is one of the priorities of the Syrian Arab Republic, expressing Syria’s readiness to cooperate with Azad University in a way that would serve the educational, scientific and academic sectors in Syria.
Boroujerdi, for his part, hailed the scientific and academic cooperation with the Syrian universities, asserting that the Islamic Azad University (IAU) will spare no effort to transfer its scientific and research experiences to the brotherly and friendly country of Syria, particularly in the domain of new biotechnology due to its importance in enhancing the scientific and research structure.
The meeting also tackled the issue of exchanging expertise, joint research, students and members of the teaching bodies, in addition to increasing the scholarships granted for the Syrian students in the qualitative specialties.
