Damascus, SANA- Caricaturist Raed Khalil won award of best cartoon in the 9th Sicaco Cartoon Contest 2020, Daejeon, Seoul, South Korea.
About 479 cartoonists from 45 countries took part in the competition.
Khalil’s cartoon portrayed the theme of the competition which focuses on “Freedom” by a painting showcased how some parties attempt to exploit this humanitarian and significant issue to gain benefits through ignoring the feelings and sufferings of people.
Khalil, the director of Syria’s International Cartoon Festival, won the State Encouragement Award in 2019. He also won dozens of international awards.
