More than 41 million coronavirus infections worldwide, deaths exceed one million

Capitals, SANA- The novel coronavirus” Covid-19” has claimed the lives of one million and 129,600 people around the world since its appearance in December and its outbreak last March.

According to the latest statistics of the Worldometers website, which tracks the developments of the virus, the total number of infections around the world has reached 41 million and 43,648 cases, while the number of the recoveries has reached 30 million and 629,580 people so far.

 In the United States of America, which leads the world in terms of the number of Coronavirus infections, a US governmental report released on Wednesday showed that about 300,000 additional deaths have been recorded in 2020 during the Coronavirus pandemic compared to the previous years.

 The report added that Coronavirus death toll in the United States has amounted to 216 thousand in the middle of this month.

Meanwhile, India, which is the second most populous country in the world, has the second largest number of coronavirus infections after the United States, as the infections have jumped to 7.65 million after recording 54,044 new coronavirus infections on Wednesday.

The Indian Ministry of Health said that it “has detected 717 new deaths during the past 24 hours, bringing the total deaths to 115,914.”

In Germany, data from the Robert Koch Institute for Infectious Diseases on Wednesday showed that the number of new Coronavirus infections has increased by 7595, bringing the total number to 380,762.

 The data revealed that 39 new deaths were recorded, bringing the total number of fatalities to ,9875.

 As for Brazil, 23,227 confirmed cases of coronavirus and 661 deaths have been recorded during the past 24 hours.

Brazil has recorded nearly 5 million and 300,000 cases of the virus since the outbreak began, while the official death toll from the virus has amounted to 154,837, according to the Brazilian Ministry of Health.

 For its part, the National Health Commission in China said that “the Chinese Mainland recorded 11 new cases of Coronavirus on Tuesday”, indicating in a statement that all the new cases came from abroad.

 The total number of confirmed cases in the mainland has reached 85,715 so far, while the number of deaths remained unchanged at 4,634.

 Meanwhile, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro announced that his country will start a large-scale vaccination campaign against the novel coronavirus between December 1st and 2nd, thanks to the vaccines supplied by Russia and China.
