Tehran, SANA – Iran’s first Vice-President Isaac Jahangiri stressed that the political solution based on an inter-Syrian dialogue is the only way for solving the crisis in Syria.
Jahangiri said, during the tenth meeting of the Information Ministers of Islamic countries, which began in Tehran today under the title of “International convergence for peace and stability in the Islamic world” .. the process of developments in the region indicates that no military solution is possible for this crisis, which was stressed by Iran since the beginning.
“The Middle east is suffering from the crimes of the Israeli entity against the Palestinians, as this region is still facing terrorism surges, particularly in Syria and Iraq, and that has deepened the suffering of the Moslems in the world,” he added.
Afkham: Solution in Syria must be based on its people’s will
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Marzieh Afkham said a solution to the crisis in Syria must be based on the Syrian people’s will and dialogue among them.
Addressing a weekly press conference on Wednesday, Afkham added Iran clarified its principled stance towards the crisis in Syria to the UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura during the latter’s latest visit to Tehran.
She noted that now discussions are underway to prepare and work out views to resolve the crisis, noting that Tehran’s view, which has been repeatedly made clear, is one of several other views aimed at resolving the crisis.
