Damascus, SANA- A Syrian Airlines plane on Monday arrived in Damascus International Airport coming from Khartoum with 239 Syrian passengers on board in the framework of the efforts exerted by the government for the return of the Syrians who are stranded abroad, according to a statement by the Transport Ministry.
Last Friday, a Syrian Airlines plane arrived in Damascus International Airport coming from Kuwait with 257 Syrian passengers on board.
The Interior Ministry has recently called upon the Syrian citizens who are willing to return to Syria to get in contact with the Syrian embassies in Cairo, Muscat, Abu Dhabi, al-Manama, Khartoum, Moscow, Algiers and Baghdad to submit a request on their desire in order to prepare a program for the Syrian Airlines flights by the special governmental team within the exerted governmental efforts for the return of the Syrian citizens stranded abroad.
Since May 4th, the Syrian Airlines have started to run flights to evacuate Syrian citizens who are stranded abroad according to lists registered by the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry through the embassies and the diplomatic missions.
