Geneva. SANA- The meetings of the third round of the Committee of Discussing the Constitution were concluded at the UN headquarters in Geneva on Saturday with the participation of the national delegation and the two other delegations.
An informed source said that the meetings of this round were within the framework of an agenda titled “basic national principles” where the national delegation presented several national principles including the national identity and cultural diversity as two essential principles that can be built upon in the next stages of the committee’s work.
The source added that the national delegation affirmed its commitment to continue working openly in the coming rounds to reach consensus on these two principles and other national principles that are considered common grounds on which the committee’s tasks can be carried.
The third round of meetings of the committee began on Monday with a morning session before further sessions were suspended by the after discovering Coronavirus cases among the participating delegations, then the meetings resumed on Thursday.
The committee is composed of 45 members; 15 members of the national delegation, 15 members of the Turkish regime delegation, and 15 members of the civil society delegation.
Two previous rounds of meeting were held at the UN headquarters in Geneva in November 2019.
