Tehran, SANA-Speaker of the Iranian Islamic Shura council, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, affirmed on Monday that the US unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria, particularly the so-called “Caesar Act,” are inhuman and doomed to failure.
“Enemies of Syria, Iran and the resistance axis were desperate because of their failure in their terrorist and military war against Syria, so they moved to impose economic and coercive unilateral measures, and this is an evidence to their failure in their plots,” Qalibaf said in a meeting with Syria’s Ambassador in Tehran, Dr. Adnan Mahmoud.
He stressed that Syria has always been and will remain in the front line of the resistance axis, once again, reaffirming that Iran will continue to support Syria because the two countries have always had deep-rooted and strong ties.
For his part, Syrian Ambassador Mahmoud, congratulated Qalibaf on his election as Speaker of the Shura Council, Stressing the importance of enhancing the strategic bilateral relations in the economic domain.
Mahmoud added that the two countries should take advantage of the available capabilities to face the terrorist economic war and serve the interests of two friendly countries and peoples.
